Broken windows, doors and roofs covered quickly with plywood and heavy tarps to stop rain, wind and trespassers.
After a fire, storm or break-in, the most urgent job is to close the opening. Weather and open doors turn a bad loss into a worse one. Plywood on a window and a tarp on a roof can prevent thousands of dollars of additional damage.
We secure broken windows, doors and roofs with fastened plywood and properly installed tarps, sealing edges and avoiding damage to sound materials. We photograph the work for your records and tell you what permanent repairs are needed. We bring plywood, screws, sheeting and strapping, and we size the covering to the opening so it holds up in the next storm. For a roof, we work from the ridge down and keep the tarp tight so that wind cannot get under it. After the cover is on, we recommend a quick check inside for wet insulation and drywall, because covering the outside does not dry what already got wet.
A tarp that is nailed down only at the corners flaps and tears. We secure it along strips, lap it correctly and carry it over the ridge so wind cannot lift it.
An open building invites theft and weather. A solid board-up secures the property until glass and doors are replaced.
Board-up and tarping are temporary protections. We tell you plainly what permanent repair is next.
Photographs of the opening before we cover it support your claim and show what was damaged.
